First Pair of Shoes - Sat 23 Oct. Size 2G

Mummy and Daddy realised that now it's winter and I like standing up ALL the time, my feet have been getting a bit wet and muddy out and about. So they figured it was time I got a pair of shoes. Luckily now at Clarks they have got some fierce competition, and in order to attract parents away from Primark and encourage them to spend TEN TIMES the cost on their children's shoes, they have to offer a carrot and stick marketing ploy. The stick is that if you don't pay £22 to have your child's feet shod in shoes that have been measure to fit width and length and have rubbery bits and soft soles and are gold plated (they are, aren't they?) until your child is 17 years old then that child's feet will go rotten and fall off. The carrot is that they will take a poor quality photo of said child in said gold-plated shoes and give you a free pair of socks and a couple of shoe boxes.
Well, here is the photo. But they do look smart, don't they!

New Trick

Over the last couple of weeks I've developed a new trick. In my favourite series of books, the 'That's Not My...' series, there is a mouse in a different place on each page. When Mummy or Daddy say 'where's the mouse', I can now point to the mouse! Other words I recognise include cat, teddy bear, lion, penguin, turn the page, keys and where's it gone. Mummy says I must be a genius.

A weekend in Wyton for Louis' 1st birthday and Callum's christening

We went back to Wyton for the weekend and had a lovely time staying with Justine, Rich and baby Isobel. I enjoyed playing with all Isobel's toys and I'm afraid we spread them out across the whole living room! I really liked stroking the two cats and having a playmate in the bath with me instead of Mummy, who takes up all the space.

Louis' 1st birthday party was brilliant and I was so excited to see Louis when he woke up from his nap that I jumped up and down and pointed at him and clapped my hands. He is my first friend after all. A lot of my other good friends were there too including Lily, Flo and Meg. I really enjoyed seeing them all again and had lovely cuddles with Sara and Laura.

Here is Lily having fun at Louis' party

Here is the birthday boy himself, badge included!

This is me at Callum's Christening party

Here I am at Louis' birthday party trying to eat a crystal ball.

Here I am having a cuddle with lovely Laura.

I think Louis was a bit envious of the balloon I'd found.

Here Isobel and I are pointing out that it was Daddy & Rich who made most of the mess really.

I was enjoying pulling myself up to standing on the bath handles. Again. And again. And again.

Burnham Beeches

Autumn is here and I LOVE it! Mummy and Daddy introduced me to green leaves, yellow leaves, red leaves and brown leaves; fir cones and fir trees; sticks, twigs and logs; and a whole load of weird carvings in the sensory garden trail. I had a lovely time in the rucksack that Nana and Grandpa bought for me and, predictably, fell asleep by the end of the walk!

My very own (rented from the RAF for free) high chair

I'm not all that sure if I like it yet, but I expect I'll get used to it.

Sporting my fab new dungarees from Nan and Pops

Here I am in my splendid red dungarees from Nan and Pops. Mummy thinks they make me look tall! As you can see I am now very confident at taking steps and I can balance holding on with only one hand and using the other hand to muck about with stuff. Which is great because if there's one thing I love it's standing up whilst mucking about with stuff.

Playing with my shape sorter barn from Nana and Grandpa

I LOVE my new shape sorter toy. Don't get me wrong, I can't actually sort any shapes yet. I can't even put the shapes in the door of the barn - or at least I choose not to! I much prefer just emptying everything out of the shape sorter on to the floor. It's messier that way. Oh, and yesterday I learned how to open the door to the barn using the little handle - momentous moment because Mummy thinks it's the first thing she ever taught me to do. That is, I couldn't do it, she showed me how and now I can do it! Direct hit!

Mmmmm corn on the cob

The baby led weaning is going well - slowly but surely! I had my first gnaw on a corn on the cob which I very much enjoyed. Mummy has had some trouble trying to explain baby led weaning to the health visitors who don't seem to have ever heard of it, which is quite funny considering it is what they are meant to be recommending now! Mummy thinks she might donate a copy of the baby led weaning book to the doctors surgery and educate them all.

Having fun at the park in our new habitat

Here I am having fun at the community centre on the Defence Language School camp with Mummy and Daddy. It's fun and it's freeee!

It turns out Marlow has the most AMAZING playground - if only I was a bit older I would have been beside myself with all the things to do there! As it was I was more than pleased with the slide, climbing frame, swings and wendy house.

Hughenden Manor

Just keeping our hand in on National Trust properties in the local area....

Visiting the farm shop in West Wycombe with Mummy

Mummy and I are now officially ladies what lunch. And here we are doing just that.

Visiting Great Auntie Janice and Margaret

I relished the chance to show off my skills to my admiring Great Auntie (easily confused with her twin sister, my Nana! See if you can tell the difference! I was confused to say the least!) - waving, clapping, splashing in the water, pointing etc. I think she was impressed.....well all the outfits you see me wearing here were gifts from her so I think she must think I'm alright anyway!!
Oh, and another important first - my first go in a shopping trolley! What fun!
