Craig and Kirstys' Wedding 18 Dec 2010

The wedding was in Glasgow so we stopped off in the glamorous Preston Travelodge on the way to break up the journey which meant I was in fine spirits the whole time. The snow didn't stop us and it was magical for me to be out in my first downfall of snow. The wedding was lovely; highlights for me included being carried out of the ceremony upside-down by mummy so that I wouldn't make any more noise; the huge Christmas tree which I was very keen to play with constantly, complete with baubles which the staff were entertaining me with; and lunging at the other guests' fascinators/brooches/necklaces at every available opportunity. Mummy was exhausted and had to take me back to the hotel at 7pm... not because I needed to sleep but because she needed to!
....

Mummy and I read glamour magazine while Daddy went for pre-wedding drinks the night before the big day.

My latest trick is giving kisses to all and sundry. I especially like to surprise people with a last minute open-mouth, and frequently go for tongue action too.

Time for a quick nap while Craig wrote his speech the morning of the wedding...

No pictures of me in my matching coat but my spotty woollen dress was rather splendid.

The happy couple.
The day after the wedding... enjoying the Glasgow snow and showing Daddy how to use a laptop. I've shown him lots of things he didn't know the laptop could do, including turning the screen sideways.

Playing and Cruising

I'm still not properly crawling but have taken to quite a lot of bottom shuffling and simply lunging and lurching and throwing myself at things to get where I want to be. But I am much more effective at cruising, using the wall or furniture to stand up and then holding on to whatever is to hand to get about.

Getting on brilliantly with my walker

Standing up on my own!

Captured on camera for the first time! Which definitely means I'm doing it for long enough for it to count!

Tickles with Nana

Christmas comes early...

....Thanks to Great Auntie Janice, Margaret and the dogs! They've sent FOUR BOXES full of presents for me so Mummy and Daddy thought we'd better get started opening them early lest it all get a bit much for me on the big day!
Here you can see me enjoying just a few of my beautiful pressies from my far-too-kind Great Auntie, which include a Hamleys letter box shape-sorter, a Hamleys hammer-and-ball set, lots of clothes (for example the blue top and purple shorts you see me wearing here), some Burts Bees Bubble Bath, towels, a book called Tabby McTat.... I could go on! I absolutely LOVE all my beautiful presents.

It is a myth that babies prefer the box and wrapping in this case! I've spent HOURS on my hammer and ball set and knew exactly what was worth playing with!
Oh - and you may notice I now have 6 pearly white teeth, many of which are visible when I grin! :)

Kissing Face

I've developed a new kissing face which I like to do after eating/drinking and also just generally throughout the day. It's tricky to catch on camera as it often comes with a lot of movement, but here's Mummy's best attempt.

Having fun with my next door neighbour, Lotte

Lotte and I are a very similar age so it's really lucky that we got moved in next door to one another here in Beaconsfield! We get to play every week and like to copy each other. I'm working on my Lotte-Smile (scrunched up nose affair); Lotte's learned to clap. It's a win-win situation.

A day with Nan and Daddy

This was my first whole day apart from Mummy. We both survived pretty well. Mummy went for a spa day with my Godmother, Annie, and Daddy and Nan took me to see the Christmas display at Waddesdon Manor. I had a lovely day and survived the cold very well - I tend to go very quiet which Mummy and Daddy think is a way to conserve energy for keeping warm. Either way it's unusual for me. Especially recently as I have been working on my 'inward talking' technique - by making noise on my in-breath as well as my out-breath, I can make noise CONSTANTLY. It's quite a hit with the grown-ups, I can tell you.

Winter Wonderland with Evan and Gemma

We spent a fab weekend in London visiting my Godfather, Evan, and Gemma. It was a bit on the chilly side but my furry hat kept me nice and toasty. I made a LOT of friends on the tube, waving at everyone I saw and trying to give my blue bear to anyone who'd take him. And a few who wouldn't. I waved at EVERYONE in M&S on Oxford Street but didn't get many waves back... I guess that's the big city for you.
Ev and Gem took us to Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park. As you can see from my smile in the middle picture above, I enjoyed it. Mummy liked her Belgian waffle with chocolate too. And I got to see a lot of penguins... one of my top favourite animals. All round winnner.
