Child cruelty case pending

Apparently Daddy used to LOVE being in the laundry basket. Well maybe it grows on you.

Can't sit still!

It's happened. I may not be able to crawl yet but I'm not letting that hold me back. I'm interested in EVERYTHING and will try and grab, knock over or kick anything in my radius. And my radius is ALWAYS slightly larger than mummy or daddy expect!

Meeting Sonali in London

Mummy's friend Sonali came over from New York and had lots of presents for me! I am now the especially proud owner of an 'I love NY' teddy bear. We had a lovely afternoon in Le Pain Quotidien at St Pancras and Sonali couldn't believe how happy a baby I am!

Painting

We made a family hand / foot print canvas. Messy and fun!

Weaning update

I've been making a lot of progress with my solid food recently and when I'm in the mood I can now reliably get food into my mouth and chew it - sometimes I even swallow it. Here you can see me slightly maniacally enjoying a dried apricot, one of my favourite things to eat.

I am also quite partial to the wipes that mummy uses to clean me up (luckily they are chemical free!) and it is often quite a battle between me trying to eat the wipe and mummy trying to clean me with it!
Here you can see me eating my first prawn, as part of a delicious meal of Pad Thai cooked up by Daddy. I was a big fan of the prawn but completely befuddled by the noodles.
I am sporting my favourite bib, 'I want chips chocolate and cake', from Lindsay, Jake and Leo :)
And last but not least, the old classic 'eating a yoghurt but have most of it all over my face' picture.

Playing with my funny teether toy

All this teething and STILL no teeth! Mummy thinks she can see the bottom two just under the gums now but she doesn't like to check too often as she keeps telling herself a watched pot never boils....

Stealing Grandpa's biscuits

I discovered Grandpa's biscuit stash and spent a good 20 minutes trying to get into the packet... luckily for Grandpa I didn't succeed!

Picking the cherries on our rented cherry tree

Thanks again to Maddy for our rented cherry tree - this weekend was our chance to pick the fruit, and there was LOADS of it! Luckily Nana and Grandpa helped! It was a HOT day (well over 30 C) and I wasn't impressed. But things got better when I took my clothes off and tried to learn how to drink water out of a cup as most of it went all over me, which was very cooling!

Grandpa's 60th birthday

Grandpa decided to take us all out for a delicious Sunday lunch at the Ewe and Lamb pub to celebrate his 60th birthday, and I thoroughly enjoyed my roast dinner! I even tried horseradish sauce on my piece of beef, and came back for more!

Visiting Nan and Pops 10 July

I had a lovely time inspecting Nan's beautiful garden in the sunshine. I had my feet dipped in the pond, peered off the bridge at the stream, looked at the wild orchids growing in the meadow and played on the bench.

Playing with my friends at Emma and Megs' house

We had a lovely day with Emma and Meg, Jo and Callum and Justine and Isobel - the last day we will all be together before Justine and Jo go back to work.

Big smiles

Mummy thinks I'm smilier than ever these days and we're having so much fun now that I can do more things.... I recognise my own name now so I turn my head when you call my name, and I can actually bounce in my bouncy chair rather than just sitting in it looking happy!

Avoiding the paps

Now that I'm becoming more interactive than ever, I have started reaching out for the camera lens - so Mummy and Daddy are getting more and more pcitures that look like this!

Shopping with Mummy

Here I am looking after the vegetables for Mummy at the Waitrose weekly shop.

Spoon practice

I sit at the table every meal time now and play with my spoon. I have made lots or progress in the last week, and I manage to get the spoon in my mouth at least 20% of the time! Though not always the right way up....
I've now licked, squidged, smeared and gummed (but not swallowed, as far as Mummy and Daddy believe) baby rice (not a fan), bread, toast, cheddar cheese, cucumber, red pepper, pear, strawberry, apple and peach yoghurt, fromage frais, scone, carrot cake, strawberry icecream, boiled potato, banana, porridge, shreddies, weetabix, shredded wheat, sardine and tomato. Mummy thinks I might turn into a beautiful butterfly any day now, just like the hungry caterpillar.

Pretty dress from Nana

Burghley House, Stamford

We had a lovely trip with Nana and Grandpa to Stamford, and we visited Burghley where we saw deer and had fun in the garden of surprises. I dipped my feet in the fountains and tried a piece of Nana's scone and a lick of Grandpa's strawberry icecream!
